PROJECT CONTROLS AND ACCOUNTING CLERK (Part-Time)

Calgary, AB, Canada

Reporting to the Accounting department and working with the V.P. Finance/Administration, the Project Controls and Accounting Clerk is responsible for project start, end, and maintenance. This individual also ensures the timely and accurate processing of payables, and tracking of invoices. The Accounting Clerk role may also assist the accounting department with performing other accounting duties, as required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing vendor invoices for appropriate documentation, coding and approval, as well as matching invoice amounts against purchase orders;

  • Verifying employee expense report claims for adherence to company policies and project-specific procedures prior to processing expense reports for payment;

  • Preparing GST analysis for project billing;

  • Entering vendor and employee payment information and account codes into Ajera financial system;

  • Communicating with external vendors and Lanmark personnel at various levels of the organization, including timely investigation and resolution of issues with the assistance of the accounting department;

  • Maintaining and reconciling project budgets; and

  • Assisting Project Managers with project Change Orders and CORNs

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience;

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment;

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);

  • Accounting knowledge sufficient to perform account reconciliations;

  • Ability to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information; and

  • Industry and project experience is an asset
