4 - ACCOUNTING CLERK 14-MONTH CONTRACT.

Reporting to the President and working with the V.P. Finance/Administration, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and processing of biweekly payrolls, as well as the timely and accurate processing and payment of vendor invoices and employee expense reports in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Accounting Clerk role may also assist with performing other accounting duties, such as monthly GST remittances, journal entries and account reconciliations.
Job Responsibilities:
Preparing and processing payroll, including review of timesheets for accuracy, as well as tracking and processing various payroll deductions and adjustments;
Preparing and processing payroll journal entries and related payables;
Preparing and maintaining employee files and associated documents;
Preparing cheques for benefit payment, issuing ROE’s and other payroll reports as requested;
Reviewing vendor invoices for appropriate documentation, coding and approval, as well as matching invoice amounts against purchase orders;
Verifying employee expense report claims for adherence to company policies and project specific procedures prior to processing expense reports for payment;
Preparing GST analysis for project billing;
Entering vendor and employee payment information and account codes into Ajera financial system;
Communicating with external vendors and Lanmark personnel at various levels of the organization, including timely investigation and resolution of issues with the assistance of the V.P. Finance/Administration;
Maintaining and reconciling employee accounts; and
Preparing various journal entries, assisting with completion of monthly GST remittances and other ad hoc tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of related work experience;
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment;
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
Experience with hourly payroll;
Accounting knowledge sufficient to perform journal entries and account reconciliations;
Ability to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information; and
PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation is an asset.
